Ocmulgee Heritage Trail

The Ocmulgee Heritage Trail is the only riverside trail and park system in Middle Georgia with greenspaces totaling nearly 1,500 acres, which is almost double the size of New York’s Central Park. The Trail provides a safe, beautiful place to walk, bike, and play while enjoying the river and Macon’s historic and cultural sites.

Greenspaces and riverfronts are vital to reviving downtowns and to securing business and industry prospects. NewTown and the Parks & Recreation department work cooperatively to construct and maintain the 11-mile and growing Trail.
