If you’d like to start the Fourth of July celebrations early, The Macon Beer Company is hosting a brewery tasting and tour this Saturday. The ticket price includes a tour of the brewery, six “tasting tickets” that can be redeemed for a beer of your choice, and a souvenir pint glass.

The Douglass Theatre is hosting a production of “Salome.” The classic tale of the step-daughter of Herod Antipas, who requests the head of John the Baptist after dancing a sacred dance for her step-father. SPARKS OVER THE PARK

It’s not downtown but you can’t miss fireworks on the Fourth of July at Lake Tobo! Organizers urge patrons to arrive at the Sandy Beach Park by 8 p.m. to get a good seat. Children 6 and under are free.
